McGowan Information Design Services is a research-driven consultancy specializing in UX research, information architecture, and strategic design. We help organizations make complex ideas clear, accessible, and actionable through user-centered thinking and evidence-based methods.

The studio is led by Bethany McGowan, a seasoned information professional with over 15 years of experience supporting mission-driven organizations. She holds a BA in English, which informs her clear communication style; an MLIS from the University of South Carolina, which grounds her in information ethics and organization; and an MS in Interaction Design and Information Architecture from the University of Baltimore, equipping her to design intuitive, research-informed systems that work for real people.

Bethany is also an alumna of the Bank of America Institute for Women’s Entrepreneurship at Cornell and a certified WHO Infodemic Management Training Officer, bringing advanced expertise in strategic planning, global health communication, and the responsible use of information in complex environments.
